Paris Trip: Pre-Trip Jitters

It is late Sunday night and I am finalizing plans with the Fiance. We are flying out of Orlando to New York to catch our flight to Paris. I am nervous because we are flying from Orlando to JFK together, but we will be flying to Paris separately. Why? Well because I was supposed to take this Paris trip last December, but the Fiance convinced me to spend the holidays with him in Florida instead. I rebooked the trip to December of 2013 and was set on taking this trip alone. Then we got engage in May and now the Fiance wants to come along, but my flight was full so he had to book through another airline in order to arrive the same day as me. So, I am nervous about finding each other in a foreign country. After showing the Fiance the map of CDG (Roissy Charles de Gaulle) airport and the terminals, I felt a little bit better. I know he is smart enough to figure things out, but he does tend to get distracted easily and might forget to grab the airport shuttle to pick me up at my terminal. I have to just trust that he won't forget.
I have been on the phone with the owner of the flat we are staying at. The pictures look great, but pictures can be deceiving. We shall see in a couple of days. The owner, Francoise, is incredibly friendly, she has work and will not be able to meet us during our stay, but she will have her best friend meet us at the station. From there we will purchase a 5 day bus/train/shuttle pass to travel about Paris. I am looking forward to cold weather (something I truly miss since moving to Florida 5 months ago) and the French culture. Neither the Fiance or I speak French fluently, but we do know how to greet, say "thank you," and say "how are you." We were told if we try to speak French, we would be treated better. Again, we shall see.
Well, off to sleep. I have work tomorrow then we will be spending the night in Orlando to catch our morning flight to New York. Cross my fingers that we have a smooth trip. Talk to you all later!
